Achtung! Achtung! It is schizen!

Shut It Love Actually from Norwich, England, 20th November, 2009

Tom Cruise a Nazi? Don't worry he was one of the good ones! Of course we all know this is real story, but what I find difficult to digest is that you have a leading Hollywood actor playing an aristocratic German but speaking with an American accent. It's like watching John Wayne when he was cast as Ghengis Khan. This story of heroism does not need the half-pint Scientologist to enhance it, what is next for the little man? Maybe a Biopic of Chairman Mao or Idi Amin? The story of Von Stauffenberg should be told with authenticity and dignity. If you want authentic gripping drama set during WW 2, I would strongly recommend European made films such as 'Downfall', it is a German film with German actors and is thoroughly gripping. If on the other hand you enjoyed allo allo, you will probably enjoy this.

Well it was a while ago when i watched it and i usually do this, that way if it sticks in my mind then it must be a good, great or exceptional movie. Well i cant remember too much about this one aside than its worth a watch, but dont expect to be riveted. Plot line is easy to keep ahead of and in my mine it was only saved by the splattering of stars. worth a watch, but not one to add to the collection.

Excellent film from start to finish. Don't know why I didn't think I was going to like this, but from the start it had me gripped. Definately one for the library at home.

Why are there so many different accents? It doesn't make sense. Tom cruise is rubbish. It was pretty much a let down.

tom cruise best ever.

He was absolutely brilliant. I wasn't thinking he would be any good and i thought there would be some rubbish german accents but the beginning is done with subtitles and then they carry on with English accents. The outfits, well to be honest everything about it was first class and what a cast list.

Although this was based on true events during WWII, I found that the tension was carefully built up through the film, that I wanted to see the end! Just in case history had been rewritten. The character played by Tom Cruise was in many ways one of the more predictable characters and one we would expect Tom Cruise to play. I was impressed by the supporting cast of outstanding actors, many of whom are well known british actors, who gave much less predictable performances and conveyed the conflict of their characters' emotions and alliances very convincingly. Well worth watching!

Jack Bauer starring in Valkyrie?

A Customer from Cambridge, 16th November, 2009

What was with the hushed urgent tones of Tom Cruise? Obviously had been watching 24 ... It was all right, I suppose ... just felt very 'Hollywood' and unreal to me ... German with subtitles would have had more impact, I reckon. Kept me mildly entertained on a wet Saturday afternoon though ....
