A cracking film
Gary1 from Cardiff, 13th November, 2003
Anyone who has seen this film has one of two opinions. Either they will tell you that it is one of the best manga films they have seen or it is a good film but way to short. At 45 mins this sure is a short film but you know the animation is fantastic the story is as easy to grasp as you want it to be. The action and set pieces are stunning, the sound and picture quality are great. In short this is a perfect rental as it is a fantastic manga that will leave you wanting more. Think of this as an experience rather than a film.

Excellent

A very short 45 minutes, but very, very enjoyable. The quality of the graphics, the action and the overall sci-fi story are going make a classic in manga animation. To be seen.

Soooooo Overated It's Not True
A Customer from Southend, 14th August, 2004
DON'T BELIEVE THE HYPE. This anime looks nice with some pretty scary vampires but that's as far as it goes. Short with nothing happening apart from a girl killing vampires, no explanations, no background, no characterisation.

Over rated

I am quite a big fan of anime normally but this film was a big dissapointment, it's far too short and not a lot happens. true the animation is very slick and pretty looking etc but when it comes down to the story theres not a whole lot there, especially anything thats not been done a thousand times before. by all means watch this but its not a keeper.

Blood - Half a Vampire story
trotsuk from from LONDON, 20th December, 2004
Well, what there is of this is great. Where's the other half? Top animation, an interesting setting, and a plot that felt like it was going places, until it all ends abruptly after 45 mins.

Extremely over-rated
Rob from Essex, England, 11th October, 2004
As a big fan of japanese films and anime I was prepared for a classic. A lot of films of this genre have a lot of plot twists and extensive charaterisation which make them extremely complicated and involved films to watch. This rather short film unfortunately has so little plot that if I were to sumerise it here it would blow the whole film. On the plus side the background artwork and lighting is fantastic and the main character does grab your attention briefly. However overall this film leaves you feeling disappointed in a way anime rarely does. Avoid this unless you are a background lighting specialist for japanese films, in which case this film will actually hold some interest for you.

BLOOD.... You'll be wanting more!!
Vector Prime from bedford, england, 29th September, 2006
First i have to say... this is the best vamp flick i have EVER seen! the story and animation are really good and keep you tuned in all the way through! seriously.... this will never be beat!!!! from the first splatter of blood upto the final battle, this will keep you watching... Oh wait.... There is one little let down.... its too short! At just over half an hour this is by no means as long as it should be. It could be this shortness that makes this such a good film... (It's as if they made a cool film, Took it to the cutting room floor and only kept the pure golden bits!!!) Move over AKIRA, Anime has a new Golden child! :)

NOT TOO POSITIVE
Mully333 from , 21st November, 2006
OK so its my own fault, I should have read other peoples reviews before I rented this one. In all fairness this film does look good, but sadly it is way too short (I thought there was a problem with the disc and I'd missed a big chunk) and it has almost no story to it (girl who is a vampire kills demons at a military base, thats it).

Made by Production IG (Ghost in the Shell) this is superbly animated, very stylish and full of atmosphere from the start. The only drawback is it's 50 minutes running time. I don't know if they ran out of money or time but imagine a film that goes from a great set-piece action intro straight into a drawn-out thrilling finale and misses out all the stuff in-between. It all makes sense and flows from a narrative point of view but with the Hollywood horror films it resembles, we're used to an extra hour of sub-plots, supporting characters and exposition. I'm relatively new to anime but this great little film just made me want to see more.
