South Park - It is what it is....

If you wanted to define humour, then South Park would be it. When I first discovered South Park on channel 4 repeats I watched part of an episode. My goodness I absolutely hated it and thought it was the most ridiculous thing on TV. A few years down the line, I had the chance to sit down and properly watch another episode of South Park (the one with the dam) to which I realised something. Nothing is sacred to these lot as they find humour in even the worst of tragedies. Sometimes, laughter is what people do when it hurts too much to grieve. It's what you would describe it as hysterical, unrestrained humour that most shows can't pull off. Trey Parker and Matt Stone are going to go down in history as two of the greatest comedy writers around in our time. I have noticed that this series has gone quite political, and parts made me think 'gosh have they pushed it too far this time?'. But it has always been the point of South Park and it always will be. It's a laugh and all you have to do is take it with a pinch of salt. Enjoy.
