Knowing, a sci fi thriller with Nicholas Cage, who plays an grieving single father trying to get through each day with the aid of a whiskey bottle & bringing up a small boy. When a time capsule buried by his sons school 50 years ago is revealed a secret code needs to be unlocked to determine some spooky goings on. This film is fast moving and attention grabbing, Nichlas Cage plays a beliveable role. The moment the plane crashes is particularly exciting and breath taking, looks great in HD and surround sound. The plot is fairly unique with an Adam and Eve conclusion, I was on the edge of my seat and in tears during the movie, a good all rounder and I would certainly watch it again.

Be warned

It starts as a nice little supernatural disaster movie, its got some really quite good effects over the disasters that we see on-screen. and a solid creepy edge to it as it proceeds towards its end. All of this is enough to bypass the speed of which the main character discovers the secret of the code... (a scene that its particularly corny...) Unfortunately it is REALLY let down by the ending. Which discards all the solid aspects of the film and runs arms open into religious grounds... SPOILERS: It transpires that the creepy aspect are angels (the only part that I like the idea of... Angels = Creepy) and that this is truly the end of the world. EVERYBODY DIES. Apart that is from 2 children taken away and set up as Adam and Eve on a new (and badly CGI'ed) world, in a scene that is very old testament mixing the Rapture with the Ark. Oh yes, that last little bit of the movie is all old-testament and the sinning Earth burns in fiery damnation... And there is nothing we can do about this apart from accept that this is gods will and be happy that its not the end of everything, just us... Which they even go ahead and tell us, just in case we missed the point... What with us all being DAMNED SINNERS!!!! I really, really recommend you stick to something a little less religious... (of course this is just my opinion...) 1 out of 5 stars... Although before the ending it woudl have had 3 out of 5 as a watchable, creepy supernatural disaster movie.

One of the best Nicholas Cage's movies that I have seen. The special effects were very good and the plot kept me interested until the very end when 'Third Encounters' came to mind.
