Wow.
A Customer from Belfast, 25th November, 2008
This is very probably the funniest film I have even seen. I went with a group of eight or so friends, and not one of us found any flaw in this film at all. It is literally a perfect film. Not only is it hilariously funny, there are sweet moments, there are dramatic moments, this could be a perfect film. Seriously, honestly, this film made me struggle not to wet my pants. It was amazing. I cannot even convey in words how freakin' funny it is, just go see it. Twice.

Worth a Watch
MikeSteel from , 24th March, 2009
Firstly, this is better than Seth Rohen's previous release Pineapple Express as it funnier and that's what comedys are supposed to be.I have read other people's reviews on here and some have said there is bad acting in here which i really don't agree with, although it isn't Oscar quality. Others have said the story line is bad, lets face it, this is a comedy so it's supposed to be an easy watch so who wants twists and turns thats going to leave us (the audience) confused? The first hour was very good and the last half hour was predictable.Overall review: Popcorn movie to watch with friends/partner etc.P.S. Some very sexy scenes :) Luckily for us though none with Seth Rogen.
Zack and Miri Make a Porno
A Customer from Tonbridge, 18th November, 2008
Kevin Smith's latest is a big step back. All the characters speak with one vioce (Smith's), and their dialogue is seldom funny, and even when it is funny they're chuckles, not belly laughs. The acting is generally pretty bad, with Seth Rogen and Elizabeth Banks especially unconvincing and the film looks just as flat as Smith's others. Most disappointing is the writing of the women, who are less people than walking adolescent fantasies. However real life porn star Katie Morgan is a surprising bright spot, putting in a sweetly dim turn. Want to see this subject done better? Rent The Moguls.

Not funny enough
A Customer from Reading, 15th November, 2008
The film follows a bunch of folk who decide to shoot a porno in order to pay their bills. As such the film tries to send up porno movies and the mishaps that can happen as a bunch of amateurs get together to shot a porno - I mean what could go wrong -right? However, the film is just not funny enough. There are more gags in the genre it tries to send up. There are funny scenes and there is one in particular which had the whole cinema laugh out loud, but for the running time, there are simply not bangs to the buck and a sentimental romantic comedy emerges which blunts the edge of the comedy. Many of Kevin Smith's regular ensemble cast make an appearance, but the film is shorn from the New Jersey background of Clerks, Jay and Silent Bob Stikes BAck and so on. This means it loses out on some of the ditinctiveness of Kevin Smith's other movies. Clerks, Jay and Silent Bob Stike Back and Clerks 2 are far funnier than this, I think this is one to avoid, even if you are a die-hard Kevin Smith fan.

Rubbish
David45 from , 28th April, 2009
I love most comedy, and am pretty open-minded, but this film was wall-to-wall rubbish. Too much foul mouthed language for my liking. Dont get me wrong, I am no prude, but to have constant swearing throughout the whole film was just a bit OTT for me, and it became quite irritating. The whole film was a shambles from beginning to end and is typical of most features that Seth Rogen appears in. Will appeal to some, but this was a turn-off for me.

Not worth seeing.

I don't really know what I was expecting renting this but I definitely thought it would be better. Just really boring and unbelievable film, a few funny moments which is why I gave it one star.

Brilliant, wow, etc.... Why are films based around porn always so good? Boogie Nights (great), The Girl Next Door (,Surprisingly good) Orgasmo (It's Matt and Trey!), The House Bunny (not bad for a chick flick),The Full Monty (erm, sort of) even I Want Candy's worth a watch! Maybe it's the endless Euphemisms and crude humour, but when done right (as this is) it can be really great. This film is pretty much a 10/10 for me, Kevin Smith does it again, and thank god someone has the guts to have their characters speak like normal people! I'm not saying foul language is big or clever but we all use it and having a leading lady not being offended by the word c#nt is a real breath of fresh air. It's great to see a film that doesn't seem to care about age ratings at all and still be popular. If only sci-fi and horror would follow suit. I'd recommend this film to anyone who likes a good non pc laugh. My only sort of gripe is that Miri is just that little bit too naturally hot (not sure how the ladies feel about Seth Rogen). Other than that, awsome, and Justin Long nearly steals the whole thing.

hilarious

Forget the negative reviews here this is a really funny pic from kevin smith..his 2nd film not to be set in the clerks view askew universe..this stars man of the moment seth rogan and a whole host of smith favs and superman playing a gay stud..i'll leave that with you but when you see the flick you'll know what i mean. Very funny..probably one of smiths best films after clerks 1 and 2 and chasing amy. Rogan is way funnier here than in pineapple express which i thought was disappointing. Even ex real life porn actress traci lords shows up..what more can you want..if you like stuff like knocked up,40 yr old virgin etc then you should love this.

If you aint 14 and male, dont bother
richard & lynne hughes from Chester, 7th September, 2009
this film is definately aimed at the early teen male market. Women will not appreciate most of the jokes - it was 23 minutes in before i cracked my first smile! At 40, having failed to smile again i turned it off!! If you can stand 2 hours of 'fart' and 'bum' jokes, this films for you. If you're humour is any more grown up, save your energy!
