Good Movie

Jequinox from , 3rd March, 2009

I did enjoy the movie, but was disapointed with the fact that they didn't use Thomas Jane as Frank Castle, although I must admit Ray Stevenson did play the part well. Look forward to seeing this again without any distractions and hope to see more in the future.

gratuatus displays of serious concerns??

ferdyjenny from , 24th June, 2009

the film ok better than the fisrt one, but the levels of visual violence are way over the top faIR enough the film is a 'comic book' as as with sci fi the censors are a bit easy,, but this is too far i think,,,way too far,, If you like seeing heads blown of with shotguns at close range good for you,,but me in certain circumstances a slight glimples and suggestions are far more impacting,, some comedy moments, some not ment to be, decent acting and action, but,,,,, 3 stars reduced to 2 for the display of unessecarys....

Oh God, now I've got no brain...

A Customer from Beckenham, 15th April, 2009

Because it's been sucked out by this p.o.s movie. Terrible cast (though Ray Stevenson's alright as Frank), appalling script, rubbish story, and the WORST 'bad guys' of any movie I care to recall (and yes, that includes Schwarzenegger's Mr. Freeze) - 'He's on a constant meth high!' A constant dick-head high more like. It's only saving grace is the gore, of which there is lots. It made me laugh.

Stupid

William Brown from Edinburgh, 7th July, 2009

The violence in this is ridiculous. Once you get to the point where every shot has to explode people and a punch to the face has to end with the fist coming out of the back of the head you've gone past parody and the exploitative towards just plain stupid. Reminded me why I stopped buying Punisher comics. They were trying so hard that they were just dull. Story ..... well, really, what story? The back of a fag packet would have still had space when they finished writing down the full plot. Baddies are just idiotic. Some folk will say you should just turn your brain off and roll with it. The only way to turn your brain off enough is to go to sleep which is probably the best way to get through this.

Unexpected Peach

I did think Thomas Jane was great and was rather wary of the change. However, Ray Stevenson did an execllent job and I felt the more comic book direction lent much more 'fun' to this movie. Yes. people have their heads blown off but they are bad guys and it is in a comic book style. I was playing with video settings as I watched this movie and I tweaked up the saturation of the colour. This added to the brilliant colour and setting of this movie and I have have just spent an hour and a half of fun which I would have gladly paid £30 for. If only Transporter 3 had been this good...

Punisher - War Zone

A Customer from Gravesend, 24th June, 2009

Finally they have got it RIGHT, this is the way the first two Punisher movies should have been. Full of non stop violent action. The Dolph version was good but they should have chosen a differant story from the comic series & the Thomas Jane version was not dark enough.

Glutton for punishment.

berkoboy from , 2nd July, 2009

Michael Caine used to joke (at least I think he was joking) that for every 'real' film he did he'd do a commercial one so he could build a new swimming pool. So for every Jaws 4, he'd have a Hannah & her Sisters. I hope Ray Stevenson likes his pool because with the spare cash he can try and get IMDB.com to leave this off his resume. It's not often you can say a movie is worse than a Dolph Lundgren original. At least that one had a tiny budget and occasionally good performances. This time all we have is an unremitting graphically violent film where one good gunshot deserves a hundred others. And decapitations. And impaling with swords. And killing with chair legs (don't ask). There is a school of thought that says the worst violence is that which is implied, where the director leads you almost to the impact and then lets you imagine it yourself. If that's true, Lexi Alexander bunked off and went to see 'Saw' and 'Hostel' instead. The plot is half a loaf and a fish finger to feed a five thousand strong crowd of excuses to shoot bad guys. The whole premise of the climactic shootout starts with a recruitment of help by the principal villian solely so we can see the Punisher kill a wide range of people in inventive ways. It's curious to watch but no substitute for a more meaty story, and sadly it leaves you (yet again) wondering why the keep trying with this Marvel character and for fans they must be questioning if someone will ever make a Punisher movie that's any good before Stan Lee decides his bank balance is big enough.

Truly Okay

Benard from , 1st November, 2009

This was a good rent, though something I would have felt embarrassed if I'd bought it. Real gritty action and effects. But nothing compared to the nasty one liners and some completely terrible acting.

Rubbish

A Customer from Solihull, 29th October, 2009

This is no where near as good as 'The Punisher', this is a VERY DISSAPPOINTING FILM. The fighting scenes are absolutly POO, as soon as the bad guy gets hit you can see that its a dummy. Your better off spending your time having a Sh1t.
