State of how was this film allowed to happen
A Customer from in the Slough of despond, 19th November, 2009
Not a patch on the Brit TV version. The only mysteries are 1. Why present audiences endure the terrible sound of the poorer films of this era without comment or complaint and 2. Why Gladiator has allowed himself to degenerate to Michelin Man
Action thriller

Helen Mirram....who?

Talk about a walk-on part for the poor old dear. She spent most of the time shouting and swearing. The hairsuite Crowe was suitably shambling, but Stanley Baxter would have played it better. Really, the film was about the power of mobile phones and the usefulness of leg-work. One star from me I'm afraid.
Pacy Thriller Lets Crowe Shine
TheRebus from , 15th November, 2009
Russell Crowe's best movie since LA Confidential. A controlled yet dynamic display from an actor who still hasn't quite achieved the performance that he keeps promising but one day will explode on to our screens. This was Crowe's movie the rest of the cast mere supports and buffers, especially Ben Affleck whom I considered miscast. As for dear Dame Helen Mirren? Don't know why she bothered - any middle-aged (?) actress could have delivered her lines - acting was optional. Overall a good fast-moving thriller, which didn't disappoint, thanks to RC.
Thrilling but not terrifying...

I don't like being scared out of my skin, so this thriller suited me just fine. I got totally absorbed and enjoyed it greatly. Russell Crowe is such a good actor.
Great film action all the way

Top drawer. Keeps you riveted.

If you liked the departed and vantage point then this is right up your street. Crowe at last didn't keep looking into the camera with those big eyes looking for all the women to swoon. No this is a revitalised Crowe. A great performance and excellent support. Keeps you gripped with the plot which has you glued to the end. Great stuff!!!!
