Changeling: A Unknown Outstanding Shocking True Story

Before this film, I doubt many outside the US had heard of this story. Jolie's plays a single mother, whose son goes missing one day. After months of police searches, the LAPD say they have found him, yet when the police hand him over, it isn' her son. The story thenmoves into this mother trying to tell enryone her son is still missing and the poice have made a mistake, yet the police call her crazy. This leads into story that is truly shocking, from the corrupt LAPD, and a serial killer case. Very well acted a very good film to watch.
Amazing Film.

This film was amazing. The story line was so captivating. It was just great. It ventures into something so dark & sinister. I really didn't see it coming. A great watch indeed.

Angelina Jolie plays an exceptionally powerful determined women, who sets about to reveal the corruption within the L.A.P.D. When her young son is kidnapped Jolie starts on a journey to get him back. A brilliant film, one of Jolies best performances.
Terrific

This is a really good film, with subtle characterisation, clear dialogue, twisting and unpredictable plot. It is long but not a moment is wasted. I can highly recommend this one.

Raw and powerful

A beautifully filmed, authentic piece of history exposing the corruption of the LAPD illustrated by one particular crime during the 1920s and 1930s taken from actual court transcripts, I found it nevertheless almost too painful to watch waiting for the happy ending that you are never sure is going to happen. Jolie plays the pain of a mother who has lost her son very truthfully and the strength of the character of Christine Collins comes through clearly. Lots of moments where you as viewer are shouting at the screen saying don't let this happen or do let them get their comeuppance. I was involved and gripped by the story. But it's harrowing I'm afraid.

Scary because it's a true story. I felt affected by it for a few days after. Great film, although felt uncomfortable by it also.

Mixed feelings about this one, Jolie was excellent, her performance was gripping. I didn't know that the film was based on a true story until the end so had no idea what was going to happen. When the actual conclusions were reached I was really disturbed and felt absolutely devastated by the end of it. As another reviewer said, if you want to upset yourself, watch the news, I could have done without knowing about this! My husband agreed...

I rated this film disappointing because I was disappointed. The incompetence and corruption of the LAPD was nowhere near as well portrayed as that in LA Confidential. The script seemed to be back to front so you had a distraught mother acting out a sequence of events that you know would not happen in real life. If this is a true story, then it hasn't been done justice.

I think the star was occupied with something more important, maybe the kids measles, when she read that particular script.
Compelling, challenging and surprising

Although I really wanted to watch this film, I was still amazed at how good it actually was. The writing and acting are first class and the fact that all the events took place only adds to the atmosphere. Despite knowing what the basic premise of the film was, the direction it takes in the second half was a complete surprise and kept me hooked until the every end.
