Moulin Rouge this is not. Neither is it Romeo and Juliet. Such a shame because they are great Baz Luhrman films. Nicole and Hugh are great actors but I think they should have just left this film alone. The first hour is extremely dull and I switched it off. The only reason I actually went back to finish watching it was because there was nothing on the TV. The second hour is a lot better and the last 30 minutes is great. I wouldn't recommend the film to anyone and I certainly wouldn't waste my time watching it again unless it was without sound and just to watch Hugh and admire the lovely wardrobe Nicole gets to wear.

So much promise but so awful

A Customer from Swaffham, 16th November, 2009

I was expecting an Australian Out of Africa but this one is a real clanger. Absolutely dreadful. The only saving grace is the photography. The rest of it is an outback disaster. Hammy, cartoon type style which we hoped would soon develop into an adult film but after watching halfway through we all decided to abandon this rubbish and watch tv instead. Unbelievable acting, I can't imagine what the director and screenwriters were thinking of.

ONE TO SEE

A Customer from Norwich, 13th November, 2009

I loved this film, Hugh Jackman and Nicole Kidman portrayed two completely different people but you just knew they would be good together. I did however think that Kidman's part was a bit over the top at times. The scenery and landscape was breathtakingly beautifiul. I would recommend viewing this film.

Always wanted to see the film and wished I'd have seen it sooner, great storey line and excitement only thing was I kept thinking it was going to end before it was. would recommend it to anyone I even took it for my granny to watch.

Great story - big and emotional themes - poignant and funny at times. Find Nicole Kidman an irritating actor but so was her character so that did not detract from my enjoyment of it!
