This affecting and surprisingly smart comedy focuses on Dylan Jameison, a 16-year-old who happens to have terminal cancer. Offered a wish by the non-profit "United Wish Givers," Dylan chooses what no one is expecting (but, of course, every American male secretly desires): a weekend with sexy supermodel Nikki Sinclair (Sunny Mabrey). With this intriguing premise, the film follows Dylan and his ragtag group of friends to Manhattan as they search for the lusted-after model who, it turns out, has problems of her own. Meanwhile, Dylan's concerned single mother (Cynthia Nixon, SEX AND THE CITY) wonders if this is the best way for him to be spending his last days. Despite its potential for caricature--and potentially depressing subject matter--ONE LAST THING succeeds through its well-drawn characters and its conclusion that is neither cloying nor discouraging, but tender and life-affirming--without trying too hard to be either.

The last wish of a dying teenager...

Brighouse1971 from , 16th September, 2009

...get laid? This indy movie is quite remarkable made. With an excellent cast leading Michael Angarano as the terminal ill teenager. Its a very tragic story, but with a predictable ending. The ending itself was kinda sobby! But the whole movie itself was an experience. With some amusing moments. It was quite sad ( and maybe disturbing ) to see the deterioration of the main character by the terminal illness ( cancer ). Especially in the perspective of a teenage boy! Except for the sobby end, this movie had everything I liked in a movie. Funny moments, sad ones and scenes to think about! Additional, the appearance of some other great actors were surprisingly awesome ( Ethan Hawke as the father ). I certainly would rent it again ( and even buy a copy ).

This film is excellent, there's something for everyone. It's funny, and heartfelt, and tragic, and keeps you watching. Great film to watch with your girlfriend, or wife, as you'll both be entertained.

Another teen comedy with a slightly different twist in the fact the boy is dying and has one last wish. Of course he wishes for a babe!
