Variety

Given the potentially unwieldy nature of the enterprise, [director] Benton juggles the multiple narratives with considerable grace, and succeeds in creating a warm (if somewhat improbable) sense of community among the principal characters

Don't bother.

OxfordTom from from Oxford, 21st May, 2008

I don't often feel compelled to write reviews, but this is an all time stinker. It’s clumsily plotted and cliché ridden with weak characterization, a cloying sound track, and misjudged and shallow attempts at profundity. I really don’t know what Kinnear and Freeman were thinking – this is just terrible. Yes, this review contains a spoiler - it's a complete waste of time!

A nice enjoyable movie for nearly everyone

crockery from from Belfast, 29th June, 2008

This movie was like a good book, one that you can curl up with and enjoy from start to finish. There were strong multiple stories, especially the characters who were in situations that they knew were hurting themselves as well as others. As usual the narration of Morgan Freeman is worth the price of admission. For most of the movie he hides his own pain, but at the same time is able to reach out to help those who need it. Perhaps it's not a movie for everyone, but if you've been around for a while, you can certainly identify with some of the characters and their stories. This is one of the better pictures I've seen this year (albeit there weren't very many good pictures this year) and I would highly recommend it.

Feast of Love

A Customer from Dulwich, London, 25th May, 2008

A good film to watch if there's nothing else on tv. It was quite slow and not much happened but defintely watchable.

Kiss this goodbye

A Customer from Carmarthen, 6th August, 2008

This is an awful film unless you like lots of people kissing, bouts of nudity for no reason and the absence of a coherent story. One to miss even if you like the actors all of whom have nowt to work with.
