Time Out

Giving a creepy fantasist everything he has ever dreamed of is the intriguing set-up squandered by this odd and aimless...

Not really worth the effort

Paul Howell from West Yorkshire, England, 2nd January, 2008

My wife and I actually went to see 'The Golden Compass', but could not get in, so watched this instead. Wish we had not bothered. Christian did act it well, and looked totally different to any other role he has played before, but to be honest the storyline was quite weak, and drawn out. Some very wierd scenes, and not even a good twist at the end, more like a cop out. Don't want to give too much away, but overall a very poor film.

Watch this film!

Kevin Davis from Twickenham, England, 10th April, 2008

I saw this on the plane and absolutely loved it. It's hard to recognize Christian Slater in this role, but he played it brilliantly. If you like something different and offbeat you will enjoy this. One of his best.

Good but sometimes confusing

rubbishreview from , 5th August, 2008

This film was a an unexpected psycho babble type film which follows a man bent on killing a few office colleagues, only to be pipped to the post by another similarly thinking man. The other mans shooting results in one of his 'idols' being shot and he spends the rest of the film looking after her. Don't think this is the spoiler because it gets stranger - which i won't go into:-) I wasn't a big fan of this film but that doesn't make me a critic because my better half enjoyed it and particularly enjoyed the ending and i did like some parts of the film which make you think really hard about you think you work with may have similar traits to those he doesn't like. Its' a thinking film which requires a sharp eye and some keen attention to enjoy otherwise not a bad film.

Much Underrated

redeye83 from from Milton Keynes, UK, 12th February, 2010

This film is a very dark and sometimes creepy film that looks at the side of us we try to forget. I found myself trying to work out what was real and what was a dream, it was a very clever script very well acted by Christian Slater. This film is defiantly worth watching. I’m not sure what film the other reviewers have seen but it can’t have been this one. This film make you look at the side you all of us that we hardly let ourselves look at but deep down somewhere we all have in one way or another.

Disappointing

cadykeni from from London, 8th January, 2010

I was dead excited when i saw the trailer but the film in itself was disappointing and not very credible. The idea is very orginal and it could have been really amazing but got lost along the line....

Disturbing, Funny, quirky...different

UncleBulgaria from , 19th December, 2009

This film isnt to be taken too seriously. I found it equally amusing and disturbing. Christian slater put on a great show and youll hardly recognise him as this shy, arkward, nerdy, balding man. I think 'drama' was the wrong word to describe this film, its not quite serious enough. Drama is mixed in with Black comedy and spoof. I found it entertaining and found myself attatched to the guy and wanting to see what would happen to him next. If you feel like something a little different - watch away. If you were after a serious drama, best to go elsewhere. Give it a chance, dont take the bad reviews too seriously. At the time of writing this there were at least a couple of thousand people more who gave it a good rating than bad. Maybe its a bit like marmite.... Love it or hate it.
