When his wife Cate (Segal) returns to the workforce, Paul Hennessy (Ritter) takes a bigger role in the lives of his two daughters and one son. Though the girls may appear to be of dating age to the rest of the world, Paul just isn't ready to cut his daughters loose. He comes up with a series of rules that seem perfectly reasonable to him, such as "If you make my daughters cry, I'll make you cry." His heart is in the right place, but the teens certainly don't agree.
