Over 90 minutes of cut scenes !!! wake me up when they are over ZZZzzz

A Customer from Hersh, 11th June, 2008

This game has over '90' MINUTES OF CUT SCENES !!!! Ughh I could not imagine having to have to sit all through that whilst doing NOTHING, I hope there is a skip button, the trouble with MGS 4 is that it has been around since the PS1 and revamped again and again under various names and all that made it special has now been done in so many other games, I think a lot of people will be disappointed ........

Amazing!!!!!

TroyMc from from Eastbourne, 10th April, 2008

This is to be the finally to the incredible series that is Metal Gear and Metal Gear 4 is no exception to the rule and does not disappoint, new and brilliant features include; - Adaptive camouflage (your camo suit or , OctoCamo, now has the ability to adapt it's self to your surrounding environment e.g. stand next to a wallpapered wall and your camo turns that pattern sweet!) - The formidable CQC of Metal Gear has been improved and has introduced new chokes, hold up techniques ext. - The Solid Eye is a new piece of equipment added to Snakes arsenal (it as any hard core Metal Gear fan knows is there so replace his eye that Ocelot shot out) this Solid Eye Patch scans the battle field in any way with thermal vision, night vision and binoculars. - Interactive environment e.g. you can clime in Dust bins or clime in an oil drum (oil drum replaces the concept of the card board box e.g. get in it walk around, sneak up on enemies and now even roll it at enemies with you inside like a human bowling ball Ober Sweet) - All this along with a huge new amount of weapons, gadgets, environments and enemies Brief story line: Snake’s bionic clock is running out and he has been given one last mission to assassinate Liquid Ocelot will he finish his mission before it to late we will have to wait and see!?

Too many cut scenes

Andy from Ormskirk, 16th November, 2008

Great game once the cut scenes are over, however this is part and parcel of MGS, around two hours of cut scenes a little over the top.

Major Disappointment, Snore.

A Customer from North Walsham, Norfolk, 16th November, 2008

I was expecting good things of this game but sadly it was not to be. I think it must be generally accepted that the cut scenes are just way too long, sometimes they just had no connection with what was happening (frying eggs?). The first part is supposed to be a stealth mission basically this means that there is no action for a very long time, you are told to avoid conflict, hours of this is boring and just turns you against the game and the will to continue. Even with his suit in 'stealth' mode snake is still blindingly obvious yet the AI can be right on top of him and not notice, perhaps his suit should have made him more transparent (Crysis on the PC is a great example of how to do it properly). Again it's very boring and you find yourself doing stupid stuff to try and liven it up. Setting off the alarm and then killing large numbers with the stun knife. It really just is so slow to play. Most of the graphics are good and you certainly get every opportunity to look at them but it just wasn't a challenge. Would have been good to just jump into the game straight away with some nice hardcore action not cinematics and hiding.

Great But...

A Customer from Birmingham, 27th October, 2008

I Have played the game and i wasnt particularly a MGS Fan but i think the gameplay is good and the storyline is good as well but like many other reviews i must agree it has too many cutscenes but thankfully you can skip these. THe Graphics are also good and it does get interesting as you go through the game. The first part is really annoying with a tv programme and many cutscenes but otherwise i think it is a great game and the online is fantastic as well.

A perfect ending

A Customer from Dartmouth, 26th October, 2008

What can be said that hasnt been said already? An end to a legend, the greatest of all CQC and stealth combat, Snake returns for one last mission - to stop Liquid snake. a new combat auto camoflage suit, countless weapons and customisations, and a perfect ending to the story - this title is a must for fans and newbies alike. Purchase this game before any other!
