Superb 5 Stars!

GStar1977 from from Glasgow, 15th November, 2007

I went to see this film in the cinema and was taken back with how great it was. This film is based on a true story about a young man's life after he graduates from College and decides to go travelling. The film jumps back and forth between his childhood and his travels and is told from his sister's point of view, but is not confusing in the way it is done. The storyline captures you and the directorship from Sean Penn is superb. I would be very surprised if Sean Penn doesn't not receive an Oscar nomination for this film as it was truely outstanding!

Very important film

Ravi Mulchandani from London, England, 19th February, 2008

The film takes you down a journey to mankind's enchanting prehistory. We switch between the beauty of the wilderness and the urban and travelling life. A story of struggle with oneself, others and the beauty of that struggle. Very moving.

Boring Rubbish

A Customer from Sheffield, 21st March, 2010

I don't see how anyone can rate this film highly as nothing happens - I had to fast forward after halfway through in case it looked like something would happen but it never did. I liked Emile Hirsch in Lords of Dog town and Alpha Dog and Jena Malone in Donnie Darko but not here. Also I can't see what Vince Vaugh was doing in this.

Boring, Boring, Boring, Turn it off !

AdamRG from , 17th March, 2010

This is supposed to be one of those films which inspires people. It inspired me to turn it off after watching an hour of watching some idiot who thinks he understands the real meaning of life.

Beautiful scenery

A Customer from Abingdon, 16th March, 2010

Somewhat sad story, but beautiful scenery made up for the weak story line. It was hardly believable for me - I couldn't warm to the main character.
