When some creature escapes into space with Princess Peach, Mario gives chase, exploring bizarre planets all across the galaxy.

The ultimate Nintendo hero is taking the ultimate step... out into space. Join Mario as he ushers in a new era of video games, defying gravity across all the planets in the galaxy. Players run, jump and battle enemies as they explore all the planets in the galaxy. Since this game makes full use of all the features of the Wii Remote, players have to do all kinds of things to succeed: pressing buttons, swinging the Wii Remote and the Nunchuk, and even pointing at and dragging things with the pointer.

Super Mario Galaxy

the reviews are very good for this game however the actual game its self does not have an actual story line. this therefor creates a poor game. another problem with this game is you get clips after every stage. this does get rather anoying. all in all it is really a bad game and i would not recomend it to anyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!

brilliant!!!!!!!

A Customer from Birmingham, 6th December, 2007

This is such an addictive game, all the stages are different from each other and its so fun discovering new galaxies and the're not really hard to do. So this means that the whole family can play, my 7 year old nephew absolutley loves it (such a shame its not two players, me and him have a fight all the time over the wii remote)

Amazing!

PhilWay from , 4th January, 2008

What can I say! After being disappointed with the tedious and overlong narrative in Paper Mario, this is a true return to form for our favourite plumber! The control are just so natural after 1/2 hr playing and the gravity engine is just a joy to behold. The graphics are clean and superb and even the soundtrack isn't to annoying for a Mario game! This just shows what can be achieved with some clever, well thought out programming. You don't need a supercomputer to make fun games, just a little attention to detail. Well done Nintendo! I can't see a game like this ever being released on PS3/360.

Gaming perfection

adeling from , 29th December, 2007

It's only when you go back to other games that you realise quite how perfect this game is. I had only recently tried Super Mario 64 from the Virtual Console (I didn't have an N64) and was really disappointed so I was put off from trying this instalment. But rave reviews from friends, all the magazines and websites I could find and even the mainstream media convinced me there had to be something in it. And there is. The game is imaginative, just the right amount of challenging, innovative, varied and, well... perfect. The Wii remote (Wiimote) is used to just the right extent and is most certainly not a bolted-on gimmick as is sometimes the case in other games and the use of all three dimensions definitely adds, rather than confuses.

Out of this world

A Customer from Scotland, 10th March, 2010

Super Mario Galaxy is an amazing game featuring excellent graphics and sound and well designed and thought out levels. At first it takes a bit of time to get used to controlling Mario running upside down on a planet, but once you are used to it is really good fun! Nintendo have designed the game to cleverly introduce the games player to the different features and abilities at Mario's disposal by gradually introducing them over each new level. This is especially good for any newcomers to Mario games such as myself. It is clear from the design of the levels and graphics that a lot of time, effort and attention to detail has been dedicated to the game both by the programmers and Nintendo. This all ensures that this in my mind at least is one of the best games I have ever played and ranks up there with my all time favourites. I am really looking forward to Super Mario Galaxy 2 now, to see if Nintendo can surpass their already high standards of perfection. The first game will be a hard act to beat, but even more of the same would be welcomed by the majority.

Loved it!

Nakedeye from , 9th February, 2010

Would have liked to have hang on to it longer as never got near to the end i don't think but what me and my 4 yr old son did play was a lot of fun plus it has a little story line so makes it interesting. Will probably buy it now.

Doesn't need a plot!

Gavlovesfilm from , 31st January, 2010

I see that a lot of other reviews score this one lower because of the lack of Plot.
The plot is this - Mario flying through space to rescue Princess Peach (again).

The game is so much more than a plot driven affair which wouldn't make you want to play it again.

Each galaxy presents a variety of challenges, puzzles and fun.
Easy to pick up, difficult to master.

Great for gamers of all abilities and ages.
