Ricky Gervais returns with this brand new stand up show, Fame, where he turns his comic attention to the world of the celebrity and everything that fame can bring, both good and bad. Ricky just keeps getting better and better as a stand-up and this show should be the funniest yet, after all, it's a subject he's well acquainted with.

Disappointing

A Customer from Preston, 20th November, 2007

I've seen everything Ricky Gervais has done , got all the DVDs and i am a huge fan. This was not that great though. It's his usual non-pc humour, usually it's very funny but this time most of his gags went on too long and weren't even worth the effort when you got to the punchline. Ricky just seemed to have lost the edge a little and has resorted to fat jokes, if you like that then this is your DVD. The extras are just a little creepy instead of been funny, the guy he humiliates, usually inventive and hilarious is forced and a bit embarassing. Come on Ricky you can do better than this.

A real must for gervais fans

A Customer from UK, 11th November, 2007

I saw this show live and literally belly laughed non stop for an hour to the point where it hurt!! It’s full of the usual Gervais arrogance and self importance, but isn't that what makes him funny and unique? Extremely politically in-correct, but again, it adds to his character and would be boring without. The reason he gets 4 stars rather than 5 is that there were occasions where some jokes and stories we 'refurbished' for the sake of a new show and in parts it felt a bit samey as Animals and Politics

Worth Seeing

A Customer from New Milton, 24th November, 2007

Worth seeing but not a patch on Animals or Politics. Feels laboured and just doesn't flow all that well. There are some very funny bits but I think the secret is not to expect too much and, therefore, be pleasantly surprised. Maybe it's just me: I'm just finding Ricky's on-stage style and persona increasingly irritating these days.

Stand up?

stuartlala from , 10th January, 2008

This was so awful, i fell asleep half way through it, i tried again, and it had the same effect. It was so badly written, unfuuny jokes, Ricky should stick with hanging around his celeb friends, what a waste of 60mins of my time.

Brilliant

leenybop from , 16th September, 2009

Ricky Gervais has his very own style at stand up and there are not many who can compete with him. Fame is as good as Animals and Politics and i look forward to anything else to come. If you like Gervais or good stand up this is def worth a watch. A couple of bits werent to my taste at the begining but as soon as that was by the rest made up for it and i laughed all the way to the end.
