hetty wainthropp is a quality series from start to finish.the acting, especially from patricia routledge is superb. much of the action is set in the lancashire countryside and in the beautiful town of darwen. the plots are intricate and interesting and keep the viewer hooked. the series is set in a much gentler time, and hetty, her husband robert and sidekick geoffrey are very believeable. Geoffrey now has a girlfriend called Janet, who is a mechanic, and has passed his driving test. geoffrey is played by dominic monaghan (of lord of the rings and Lost fame). i recommended this series for those wanting to relax and enjoy high quality drama.
