Sn enjoyable film to watch

Cbunny from from Redhill, 13th July, 2008

If you seen this film some might disagree with my five stars but if you keep an open mind you'll really enjoy this film. Not all films have a huge hollywood budget. Most small budget films are plagued with poor acting and bad sets with a somewhat beleiveable plot. But with Minotaur this film is saved by a decent cast that can act, an enjoyable plot and yes once or twice you might see some wires but that is forgivable. I would give this film a go.

creep from from London, 24th November, 2007

I was actually quite impressed by the fact that a buch of hollywood teens didn't end up stumbling across an ancient city to find a dude with a cows head commiting gory obcenaties on the unsespecting 'I'll be right back' crowd. Instead it was a period peice set around the time it 'actually happened'. Having said that was a wee bit dissapointed by the fellow who headlines the title but what ya gonna do eh.... dan-B

Well if you like gory films you'd love this. A sprog being born by a queen and a bull god, sinister looking thing. No wonder it was kept in the laybrinth. Well every so often some kids are scarficed to this god. In comes in the hero Theo. Who manages to save the day but some glory deaths along the way.

Entertaining Escapsim.

filmsaremypassion from , 9th October, 2009

There is some negative reviews about this movie but I wanted to give it a try. In the end, I really enjoyed it. Story is different to the Greek myth, instead of it set in Greece or having Theses it's now in the Iron Age and the name is Theo. The Minotaur is seen as a god and every five years, it demands eight youths to be sacrificed to the monster. Believing his love may still be alive after being captured, Theo joins with seven others to be taken to the labyrinth of horror and terror. But will he find her and become the hero of slaying the evil beast or will they all succumb to the bloodthirsty creature? Considering it's low budget, isn't going to be up there with Gladitaor and 300 for it's ideas or stylish action, I thought it was a entertaining escapsim from everyday things. This was a lot better than some films I have seen of late. Yes, some of the unknown's acting was a little bad and the ending was a little shaky but having top names like Rutger Hauer and Tom Hardy in it makes it alright with me. Some people say Hauer is hardly in it, it may be so but he did a okay job while Hardy was excellent in the lead role (yes, I fancy him and think he's a great actor). I wouldn't rule out a second viewing of this, if you love Greek myths with a twist Minotaur is for you.

Oh dear

Ipswichboy from , 2nd September, 2009

The cast reads like a set of B-movie stars, Rutger Hauer and Tony Todd and it stars a pre rocknrolla Tom Hardy. I didn't hold out high hopes for this film but imagined it to be better than this. Tony Todd has certainly not lost any of his eccentricness since playing Candyman and Rutger Hauer is laughable. Tom Hardy turns in a decent performance however amongst all the bad acting and even worse minotaur, which looks like something that the Ghostbusters movie may have decided not to use back in the 80's! Stay away, watch Clash of the Titans instead, much better!!
