Dull

A Customer from London, 9th February, 2008

I only watched this for half an hour, then turned it off as it was so boring. Short films are rarely engaging, and simply sticking dozens back to back does nothing to make it any more engaging. Some people may love this sort of thing, but really it is very dull.

For a sentimental mood

Andybe from , 6th February, 2008

Some reviewers say this is a must see - it isn't; some say this is rubbish - nah... Paris, Je T'aime does, however, require you to be in a somewhat sentimental mood. A couple of the shorts were quite funny, a couple were quite touching, a couple had a nice ironic twist, and a couple were really lame. Mostly, though, they were just ok - something for everyone, perhaps. Watching this can bring back memories such as your first trip to the Eiffel Tower or searching for Jim Morrison's grave and finding - well - a slab of stone. It also reminds you of certain facts such as neither Elijah Wood nor Natalie Portman can act. If you're sentimental, this is a nice montage; if you're not, either rent something else or find someone who is and get a nice bottle of wine.

Perfect

A Customer from Birmingha, England, 7th August, 2007

A brilliant film. Every single segment was special in some way. With 20 directors and 18 segments you're bound to enjoy at least some of them. Never mind what people say about it. It's got to be seen. Absolutely perfect film. It makes one realise many things

Not as bad as all that

Jo Lloyd-Rogers from London, 6th July, 2007

Believe what you read, this film isn't coherent, and the quality of the 20 or so individual shorts is a little hit and miss. I was, never the less, glad I'd seen it, if for nothing else than the utter brilliance of the last film by Alexander Payne, both hilarious and touching, there were audible laughter and tears in the space of it's less than 10 minutes. Of the other segments - ranging from the comic to the overly sentimental to the bizarre - I most enjoyed those of whose directors I knew most. Gus Van Sant and the Coen brothers both giving little nods to their other work for the watching fans. Yes, there are some bad bits, but when both the bad and the good last only 5 minutes there is plenty to find diverting and enjoyable here.

A bit like a 3 course meal

A Customer from Andover, Hampshire uk, 10th March, 2010

I had no expectations for this film, having read no reviews of it. I found little or no evidence of a link between the various little plots and for that reason was left confused as to what the maker was trying to achieve by it. The message I got was that people's lives run in parallel, sometimes over- lapping, mostly not. Beyond that it left me flat. Right at the end was a momentary sign of a link between characters, but I really never got the point, if there was one.

Impressions

greembark from , 28th February, 2010

i don't agree. i loved it. some of the shorts were a little obscure, but they were snapshots of a story unfinished that left you wondering, why should there always be an ending? to me, the films felt like an impressionists canvas, make of them what you will. i liked the obscure, the absurd, and the intenseness of them, sometimes with a serious theme, sometimes funny and absurd. it's refreshlingly different from your usual hollywood fish n chips.

Boring

Mimibelle from from London, 8th January, 2010

I found this boring and painful to watch and lasted half an hour. I couldn't even tell you what it was about..... various clips of couples living out their relationships or something. Seriously dull and I think you could find better things to watch or do with your time.

Mediocre

A Customer from Wolverhampton, 30th December, 2009

Nice to listen to French again, magic of Paris as always was there but stories cliche and acting mediocre. To be honest there wasn't much actors can do with plots like these. Not a total waste of time.
