In his 30s, Ranjeet is married to Shikha with a 6-year-old son. Shikha is very well educated and was a better student that Ranjeet. But they decided that she should stay back at home and take care of the house and the kid. So Ranjeet ventured out on his quest for money and success... and forgot his family somewhere on the way. Bitterness and boredom crept into their relationship. Soon he found solace and a fresh lease of life in Neha. An exciting, non-committal relationship based on sex.

Neglected by an indifferent husband and bogged down by family chores, Shikha is soon attracted to a maverick in Akash. A loser and a rebel without a cause, Akash is a struggling theatre artist whose wife divorces him... because she cannot stand his failures anymore. Akash and Shikha's love blossoms and she almost crosses her limits that she has so fervently guarded all these years.

Brilliant, worth watching..

medusa from Manchester, England, 19th July, 2007

This movie is all about emotions and relationships in which we all are intertwined in a social system. Among so many characters in this movie you can identify your own character somewhere in them....love, hate, illicit relationships, strained marital relationships, friendships, guilt, remorse, anger...there're so many facets to their lives that you can easily equate yourself to one of them. It is a piece of very mature film making, well directed, all characters playing their roles with utmost professionalism and is a joy to watch from start to finish. This movie did not do good in box office and I can understand why. The majority of film goers look for a story, a finale, songs and dance and other ingredients of a masala film and this movie has none of these. It is not a typical Bollywood OTT film but an account of an everyday Mr and Mrs everage coping with relationships and emotional turmoils in life. The movie starts with a more bizarre mix of different relationships which eventually boils down to four couples trying to handle their strained relationships and in many ways related to each others , and becomes more and more clear as the movie progresses. My only gripe is the comic part in the end of the movie which was unnecessary and tried to go on a more Bollywood style humor but on the whole I enjoyed every minute of this movie, and would recommend to anyone who wants to see a more mature type of Indian movie and not just a song and dance mish mash. And oh yes, it was joy to see Dharmindra again in a very moving role....

a bit disappointing

dollface from from London, 4th February, 2008

I had heard a lot of good things about this movie and so was quiet keen to watch. But 5 minutes into it I was already disappointed. The story line about the man that uses his flat for promotions is taken scene by scene from the well-known hollywood film 'The Apartment' which I thought was quiet superor to this version. The other storylines were quiet interesting but again so many cliches and bits stolen that I had just lost interest. The performances were quiet good especially from Konkona. Her scenes were the only bits in the film with some life. Overall not that great. I recommend the 'The Apartment' instead.

Different from traditional hindi movie

A Customer from West London, 18th September, 2007

Nice to see a movie where the theme isn't 'everything is normal'. Things that can happen in an average person's life

I delayed watching this film for 2 years....and it just goes to show that 'a book shouldn't be judged by the cover'.....this is a fantastic film....each character is well defined and the story is remarkable.....its not a film that one would sit down with the family to watch, but definately worth a watch.

This is okay movie. This is bollywood trying to get a swing of modernisation but lacks a very good story line. The characters are all over the place, no structure in the story line.

Boring

A Customer from Epsom, 28th January, 2009

After all the hype, the film is rather dissapointing. If you are looking for an entertaining film, this is definitely not it. There are a few good moments in it, but they are few and far between. One thing it does highlight is chavaunism in men, particularly in India.
