superb.........

williamsgwynfa from , 11th March, 2007

this film is superb. It stars Sandra Bullock and Julian McMahon. Devastated upon receiving the news that her husband, has been killed in a tragic car accident, a woman wakes up to find him still very much alive, as she begins to slip into a confusing world, where the past and the future become increasingly difficult to distinguish. Linda Hanson was an average housewife with a loving family, but when a policeman comes knocking on her door with news that her husband, Jim, was involved in a fatal car accident, Linda's world slowly begins to unravel. While her grief is at first overwhelming, Linda assumes that the whole thing was nothing more than a vivid dream, when she wakes to find her family still very much intact. With each passing day, however, Linda's reality shifts and her circumstances grow increasingly surreal; one day Jim is dead and the next he is right there by her side. As her investigation leaves her convinced that her husband's death wasn't a dream, and that her picture-perfect life may not have been quite as flawless as she thought, Linda embarks on a mind-bending journey to prevent her grim premonition from becoming a reality. Now, in order to save the man she loves, Linda will have to piece together a perplexing mystery that seems to span two separate planes of reality. well worth renting out.

Surprising

Not so Silent Bob from Edinburgh, 27th September, 2007

Not what I thought it was going to be, the trailer is a little misleading. However taking the plot as it actually is in to consideration it was a pretty good film.

Well acted and good nights viewing

Graham from UK, 23rd September, 2007

It has been a while since Sandra Bullock has graced our TV screens and as such we had hoped for good things from this movie, and to be fair I can agree with other viewers that this film is highly watchable and kept my wife and I glued for the duration. Premonition tells the story of a house wife who learns of her husband’s death in a tragic car accident whilst away on business, however the next day she wakes to find he is very much alive and this pattern continues as Linda (Bullock) struggles to accept which is reality and begins to link the two worlds. In some respects this could be likened to The Jacket or a more mysterious version of Sliding Doors however as the film pieces together you realise the director has brought much more to the table. The realities merge, what she does in one can alter the other and a sub plot provides Linda with the chance of rekindling her love with her husband. Although the ending is entertaining on some levels it is really quite frustrating at the same time and not at all in keeping with the rest of the movie, big shame as this could have hit 8/10. For us it’s 7/10, mysterious, extremely well acted and good nights viewing. 7/10. 4 Stars.

Mixed view....

PaulaWestwood from , 21st March, 2007

Quite an interesting idea really, and it works out quite nicely and keeps you reasonably hooked. But does anyone like me find Sandra Bullock a one expression actress, her face seems only able to portray any emotion (fear, anger, confusion) exactly the same way, which to me didn't help the film get a hold. Would I recommend it ? Well I would really give it a 50/50 chance and 2.5 stars. All in all this is and ideal rental, rathern than spend bigger money and time at the cinema, this is worth a watch definately, but is not worth going too far out of your way to see.

Premonition starring Sandra Bullock

fairylegs from , 9th March, 2010

Praise to Sandra Bullock for achieving her oscar - this turkey could have sunk her career without trace. Confusing and pretentious storyline and banal ending conspire to dispatch this effort to the dustbin. And how do talented actors such as Kate Nelligan end up appearing in tosh like this? I suspect that the whole production team simply couldn't wait to get off the set and forget it.

Let down

Expected more from this film, I was really disappointed especially with the ending, if you like a definite ending then i wouldn't recommend.
