Keaton stars as Daphne Wilder, a mother whose love knows no bounds or boundaries. She is the proud mother of three daughters: stable psychologist Maggie (Graham), sexy and irreverent Mae (Perabo) and insecure, adorable Milly (Moore) - who, when it comes to men, is like psychotic flypaper.

In order to prevent her youngest from making the same mistakes she did, Daphne decides to set Milly up with the perfect man. Little does Milly know, however, that her mother placed an ad in the online personals to find him. Comic mayhem unfolds as Daphne continues to do the wrong thing for the right reasons... all in the name of love.

Funny yet thoughtful!

A Customer from North London, 18th February, 2007

I think any woman can relate to this film: a mother who finds it difficult to accept her baby daughter has grown up and is a person in her own right! The film and script was dealt with in a very intelligent and funny way. But the REAL story is not so much about the mother trying to make love happen for her daughter, but in reality she realised it was herself and her lack of love in HER life that she was running away from. The end is sweet. Watch it, it's a really good film.

A really good movie, plus Diane Keaton !

PaulaWestwood from , 21st February, 2007

The Good stuff... This is a nice, but really predicatable, bit of a romantic fluff of a movie, that does sneak up on you and winds you in, until you are happy as a little sandboy sitting and watching it without a care in the world. It is quite fun and certainly a good part of the neurotic mother you will probably be able to see in your own mum. The bad stuff..For the life of me I struggle with Diane Keaton, even though she is OK in this, every time I see her it reminds me of the stuff she did with Woody Allen, and I have to say I can't shift those Woody Allen images from my mind, I really find him so odourosly unfunny . So would I recommend this, yes, its a definate one to rent when its out, I don't think you will be to dissapointed.

Don't bother.

SueD from from London, 9th July, 2007

I couldn't believe a film could be so shallow. Diane Keaton is cringe-making as the mum. I was able to stand 33minutes of the film before I realized that it was never going to get any better, and my time could be better spent watching paint dry.

Mother knows best?

A Customer from Dorset, 13th March, 2010

As a mother of 2 daughters I was curious to see this film. I can only say that I was/am never as obsessed as Diane Keaton was in interfering in her daughters' lives. It was amusing to begin with but I felt her insistance in meddling wore a little thin towards the end of the film. I generally like Diane Keaton in her films so she was the reason for watching it. A chick flick for those with patience!

because i said so

The mother was a control freak and i found very interfering and annoying... I was glad when her daughter stood up interfering attitude, and was glad that she found a new love and got married... daughters can now move on in life..

Because I Said So

Utter drivel...don't waste your time or money on this one. Despite being pregnant, my husband away in the week for work and a 2 year old asleep upstairs - so in effect best friends with the sofa and unable to go out much - I still couldn't bring myself to sit through to the end of this awful film...and I will readily admit my shameful addiction to chick-flick type films so it's not like I have particularly high standards! Diane Keaton...you should be ashamed....is work really this scarce??
