a GREAT SERIES

steven wilkins from Brighton, 14th March, 2007

Ideal is set in the flat of a drug dealer called Moz, played brilliantly by Johny Vegas. Customers and friends come and go from his grubby flat, usually to buy and smoke weed, and that is basically it....although it is so much more. As you see more and more of each person visiting the flat you get to know the characters that come and go. The're are some brilliant characters too, all funny in there own way. All the characters from the first series are here in series 2, as well as some very funny new ones, not least his shy new Neighbour Judith. Dont expect to cry of laughter from the off although there are very funny moments throughout, Ideal gradually builds, as the stories develop. I'ts beautifully filmed, and it's extremly easy and relaxing to watch, and the subtle soundtrack is excellent. Not quite as fresh as the first series but it's still brilliantly dark, funny, and very very good.

Brilliant dialogue, actors and very very funny

boogsy from , 28th February, 2007

One of the funniest and warmest tv series ever made. All the cast are really strong in their roles, with great presence, moved along wondefully by the terrific and originally funny screenplay. Extremely watchable and addictive, so to speak. in a word, brilliant.

Customer Review

A Customer from UK, 23rd June, 2008

The second season of Ideal, the best comedy from the BBC in years is here on DVD and is absolutely fantastic. Who would have guessed that a series staring Johnny Vegas playing a small time drug dealer in his Manchester flat while playing host could be so comical. The program is simple and easy to watch let still has hidden depth and meaning. Various plots and developments will keep you hooked and wanting to watch more. Ideal is unbelievably funny throughout, and a few scenes - such as Moz seriously tripping out on an overdose of magic mushrooms, will make you laugh till you choke. All of the characters are nothing less than genius. So perfectly acted, you'll begin to believe that your watching real people in their real lives. The silent Cartoon Head is my personal favorite character closely followed by Moz himself. The soundtrack is great and very fitting. You don't have to be on drugs to enjoy or appreciate Ideal as there is just something about the show that makes it very addictive to watch, and I recommend to all.

Top Drawer!

I laughed & laughed & laughed...I could watch this over & over again, it's very subtle in places & the use of language & misunderstanding is just great. Particular highlights are the Christmas 'special' & the episode where Moz inadevertantly hosts a wedding party.
