It's Too Late For Me - Save Yourselves!!!!!!!!!!!

Sasha Barker from London, England, 29th May, 2007

I'll keep this brief: this film was bad. Not bad in a good way either, just BAD. The acting's fine and it looks great, it's just those pesky things the script and characters - a bunch of well off middle class white guys (the only black guy is the gay neighbour - token alert!) who moan about their relationships with hot women and their lives being planned out. I hate it when you KNOW you're going to buy a million dollar home with a model type lady, don't you?! Some of the characters could easily be chopped out of this and you'd never know it or, more importantly, care. OK, this is going on a bit but I can feel the venting doing good. To summarise - baaad, totally implausible script and dreary, self-obsessed characters. Sold!

Shocking

Goat from London, England, 17th February, 2007

I'm a hugh fan of Zach Braff and scrubs, but this film was terrible. I did not warm to any of the charactors and struggled to watch the end. Give this one a miss.

Good movie

A Customer from London, 10th January, 2007

I actually saw this on a plane last week but the end was cut as we were landing. However I thought it was a good, thought provoking film with a decent soundtrack too. Well worth checking out - but be careful guys if watching with your wife or girlfriend..!

Amusing and Insightful

Paulo Callaghan from Wales, 21st October, 2006

An enjoyable but shallow affair that seems to dwell too much on the relationship of Braff and Bilson when the other characters could have been developed so much further. A bit long as well - the film could have benefited with more ruthless editing. Overall though a great movie that veers away from becoming a chick flick in the true sense of the phrase!

Not even worth renting

LKD from , 8th March, 2010

We actually bought this because we love Zach Braff (and we are huge Scrubs fans). I thought this was boring and pushed the men and women characters into stereotypes - and I object to that. If you read the synopsis and watch the trailer you will have seen the film - there are no added twists. It is not really a comedy so Zach Braff doesn't get a chance to shine in his usual way. If you want to see Zach Braff in a film (being something other than funny but still good) I recommend 'Garden State', a slow-moving but thought provoking film with characters who actually have personalities.

Braff in the Shadows

MrMuse from , 19th February, 2010

Zach Braff is one of those actors that people seem to either love or hate. Sadly for the former and gladly for the latter his performance here is all but eclipsed by the acting of a weighty supporting cast, all of whom do a great job of upstaging the lead. The script gives us nothing we havent seen before whilst being competent enough in execution. Overall, an enjoyable outing that will, nevertheless, not be making the top of anyone's 'must see' lists.

Brilliant. But I shouted at it.

JonK from , 7th February, 2010

Before you read the following, I want you to know that I think this is an excellent film. As a big fan of Zach Braff, I began watching the film hoping for either a work of beauty akin to Garden State, or at least a happy rom-com (which the trailer promised). Halfway through, however, I had to pause it and physically shout at it. It was the moment where Zach Braff's character chooses to engage in an affair with Rachel Bilson's. Whether this is a fault of the film's - that I reacted this way to a protagonist - or it's soaring success - that it got me to see what an idiot Braff's character was in that moment, and so am completely engaged in his search for redemption from his fiance - could be debated. But the film perfectly suceeded in getting me to vew Braff's character (i apologise for not remembering the names, it's been a while since I saw the film, but the reaction to it has remained) as the one at fault. When Bilson comes to see Braff at his office, her single line 'I made you a mixed tape' tranformed me from 'Oh, it's the man-stealing witch' to 'I want to marry her.' The single moment of innocence, and her subsequent indignation at Braff (fantastically performed by Bilson) left him as the clear, for want of another word, villain. The final act of the film hammers home the moral I was left with - 'Don't cheat. Just don't. It's not clever.' The supporting subplots concerning the other characters simply didn't register in my mind as I watched - I wanted to see more of what Braff's character would do, so I could either see him redeemed or shout at him some more. If the aim of the film was to put across the message of 'DON'T CHEAT ON YOUR PARTNER', then it absolutely suceeded.

Switched off after 30mins

ChristyBubble from , 14th December, 2009

Thinking this was a comedy I expected to laugh within the first 30 mins, at something other than Zack Braff passing wind. This movie was slow and dull. I would not waste time watching it.
