The Pains of Youth

This film had a promising start with the characters developed well and I found myself becoming more and more intrigued about the ending. When it came however I was dissapointed. I couldn't reconcile the decisions of the characters with my perception of them. On the whole I'd say a good attempt but I'd sooner watch Donnie Darko again.

Where do you start? I'm sure alot of people find this film to be - I don't know? I just think it's beautiful. Great acting, great story, great everything! Yeah there's a few dodgy bits, but they pale in comparison compared to the great bits! I fell in love with this film the first time I saw it, and it was only by luck I managed to get hold of a copy! (bargain bin at Blockbuster) If you like films like 'Garden state', 'Trainspotting' or 'Little miss sunshine' then do yourself a favour and buy it now. 'Eagle vs Shark' is pretty cool too. Anyway, I hope you like it.
Suprisingly good

For months this was one of those films you pick up in the video store and think about renting...but don't. I'm glad I finally did, it's now one of my favourite films (despite the admittedly silly ending). The scriptwriters really made the best of an fairly unoriginal plotline. The dialogue is witty & the acting spot-on. It's very British, very low budget, but a great film all the same.
