The Greatest Story Ever Told

A Customer from Wotton-Under-Edge, 28th September, 2006

As this is after all a Disney film, yes there are the cliche's, the disapproving father, the over the top pompous aristocracy, but it was still a nail biting, heart lifting story with an excellent cast that you can forgive any shortcomings. The two young cast members Shia La Beouf, and Josh Flitter were perfect, and you believed in them totally. I didn't know the story and so was on the edge of my seat at times, as was my 16 year old daughter, all the more amazingly as we have no interest in golf at all.

Fantastic inspirational film

A Customer from Birmingham, UK, 24th October, 2006

This film is one of the best of it's type. Well acted, and beautifully filmed. The ending is truly uplifting and almost leaves you with tears of pleasure. Don't miss it, it is brilliant

A load of mush

LynneW from Manchester, 11th September, 2006

Sorry to be so negative, but I thought that every frame in this film was a cliche. All the tired old stereotypes were there - the disapproving father, the supportive mother, the wicked snooty English establishment and even the whiny fat kid. The musical score was just as cheesy and the whole thing was lazy and predictable.

Great? - no. Good? - yes

TheNugget from , 5th September, 2009

Kept hearing about this film from a friends that wouldn't normally enthuse about a 'children's movie. In fact even a psychiatrist recommended it, describing in detail the subtleties of the plot and how to focus through periods of intense stress. Ok so it must be me but i just did not get it. Good film - absolutely. The story line was good, filming a little cheesy, nice stereotyping, especially of the english characters. But was it great? Nope.

Greatest Game Ever Played

This movie failed to grip me in the first 5 minutes. While an overall good story I did not feel I got the full effect of what the film was looking to achieve.
