How do you review such a film?

The J.G. Ballard novel 'The Atrocity Exhibition' has to be one of the most un-filmable books ever written, yet here it is. Whether or not the film is a success is entirely down to the readers interpretation of the book, as there is no linear plot or even structure. In my opinion, the director has done fairly well, especially with what I can assume was a very low budget. I can't help thinking that maybe an adaptation would have been better than a straight up film version of the book, it would have been risky trying to invent a plot is someone else's world but it may have made a more accessible film.
