Residing within a wealthy, green, gated community in California, the Christiansens are not your usual nuclear family. Ben Christiansen (William R. Moses) and his wife Karen (Chelsea Field) have two daughters, an open marriage, and a handful of lovers apiece. When Karen announces that she wants a divorce, she winds up dead, and there are several suspects. Their 15-year-old daughter, daddy's girl Ellie (Julia Stiles, SAVE THE LAST DANCE), never cared much for her mother, anyway. She quickly steps into her mothers role, cooking all the meals, wearing her mother's clothes, and sharing a bed with her father. Meanwhile, the murder investigation is gaining momentum. Karen had her share of enemies. Is Ellie too obvious a suspect

Radio Times

Julia Stiles — the feisty star of 10 Things I Hate about You and Save the Last Dance — plays a mature teenager who tries to take the place of her murdered mother in this mediocre domestic thriller. Director Michael Steinberg — best known for The Waterdance — employs some expressive camerawork to try and pep things up, but fails to make the telegraphed twists feel anything more than second-hand, particularly in the climactic stages. Given little to play with, Stiles brings a reasonable air of menace to her role of shrewd manipulator, but she is capable of far more interesting work than this tame teen tosh.

good film

blacklion from , 19th August, 2004

a younger julia stiles, interesting subject matter, with some good twists.
this is not a classic stiles film, it is a dark film, with lots of adult content.
Children should not watch this film.

The film is alright, but a bit crazy, it makes you think about what people are cactually capable of with jealousy.

lame

A Customer from Leeds, 20th August, 2005

Poor film, full of cliched characters, with little character or plot development. I couldnt work out why the incest plotline was there: was it just to try and create a bit of controversy to grab some headlines to get people to watch the film?; was it toned down because the target audience wouldnt be able to handle such controversy? was it just a poor script?

Boring! i thought i was gonna be watching a kind of re-make of carrie, or something along those lines. and what did i watch, a julie stiles film that she did because she had a spare 5 mintues. there isn't an actual plot it kind of just drags along waiting for the plot to come and kick them in the face but it never does. only rent this film if u are a mega julie stiles fan and HAVE to watch everything she's ever done or u might die.

Better than I anticipated

TristanWhite from , 15th March, 2005

A very strange film, in which a 14-year old Julia Stiles decides to seduce her father after the death of her mother, mainly because she is jealous of the attention her father is giving new love-interest Inger. Hence, the title of the film: Wicked. Ellie (Julia) indeed is very very wicked. And shows herself to be an excellent actress. The film certainly could have been more polished, but all in all it was a pleasant surprise: I was expecting teenage pap, but I got an adult film with a very intelligent and thought-provoking (and quite outrageously disturbing) storyline.
