In this low-budget descendant of Psycho, Ursula and Leon are sister and brother, living alone, save for a large wooden puppet they call "Pin" (for Pinocchio). When Ursula starts hanging around with new boyfriend Stan, Leon and Pin take action.

Really Funny!

If giant hair and wooden acting, not just from the dummy, are your thing, you'll love this movie. It was also wicked to see Terry O'Quinn, Locke in Lost, as the voice throwing oppressive doc/dad ... But, if you have something better to do with your life, then do it. There are a million better movies than this, Psycho for one, only watch it when you've watched everything else!

Psycholgicaly Disturbing !
Andy from Fleetwood, 13th February, 2007
A doctor has a lifelike, anatomically-correct medical dummy, with muscles and organs visible through its clear skin, named Pin (after Pinocchio). Via ventriloquism, Pin explains bodily functions in a way kids can relate to. When the over-strict doctor and his wife are killed in a car crash, his son (Leon) transfers his alter-ego into Pin, whom he always believed was alive. He starts using Pin as an excuse to over-protect his sister (Ursula) from admirers and deflect unwanted intrusions, even to the extent of committing murder. I have this on video and is one of those films,in my opinion, that has an appeal of pure astounding psychological brilliance, and even after viewing it around a dozen times still find underlying currents.

Strange and original
A Customer from london, 16th April, 2007
I watched this film years ago, after seeing the covering picture. I expected your basic slash horror, but it was something completely different. It is disturbing because it isn't as far fetched and over the top as most horrors, and is totally possible. If you prefer eerie, psycological horror to blood and guts this is definately worth a watch.

I really enjoyed this film. I thought it was well structured and there were some genuinely creepy moments without sliding over into melodrama. On the whole, I'd say that this is a film about mental illness and identity rather than being a horror film per se - definitely more on the cerebral side than the buckets of blood side, but for me that's a strength. Excellent performances from David Hewlett and Cyndy Preston, and good supporting roles. I found the ending thought-provoking and very sad. I kept thinking about this one for several days - well worth watching.

My rating is somewhat prejudiced, seeing how I managed to sit through only 40 minutes. I never turn a movie off after renting it and I've watched my fair share of utter rubbish,no the movie would have to be unusually dire. I found this to be one such rare example.
Decent Chiller...

'Pin' isn't going to change your life but I found it an entertaining watch. I must admit I was expecting more blood and guts given the '18' certificate, but we are in more 'psychological thriller' territory here.
interesting

interesting film, but a little too tame for my likeing. basicly its being obsessed with a medical dummy that their father used in his job! the father plays a doctor and is also a vantuiloquist and the kids thought it was real!!!! growing up isolated and and lonely the son had 'pin' as his imaginary friend. weird ending though.
