My Bodyguard
(1980)

Youth-oriented comedy drama about the adventures of a new student who enrolls in a high school run by a teen-age gang. He hires a bodyguard to protect him. Climax includes an unforgettable fight.

School bully Matt Dillon persecutes rich kid Chris Makepeace, who retaliates by attempting to hire the morose and overgrown Adam Baldwin as his personal bodyguard. First-time director Tony Bill creates a believable atmosphere at this Chicago school while gradually shifting attention away from Makepeace's plight to Baldwin's troubled past. Cameos from oldsters Ruth Gordon and John Houseman, plus the screen debut of Joan Cusack, are bonuses.
