Set in the small town of Stars Hollow, Connecticut, GILMORE GIRLS is a charming television drama that tells the story of a thirty-something single mother, Lorelai Gilmore (Lauren Graham), and her precocious teenage daughter, Rory (Alexis Bledel), as they navigate their way through the shifting tides of day-to-day life. Lorelai and Rory's relationship is one built out of friendship as much as it is based on maternal love, which allows for more drama and depth than most family shows. This release is a perfect way for fans to remember why they fell in love with the show in the first place, and allows latecomers to discover Lorelai and Rory for the very first time.

This isn't the first review but its the only one that didnt get sucked into all that SUGAR

A Customer from Scotland, 23rd March, 2006

I was browsing ..like you do and wow there it was 73% of folk like the Gilmore Girls..wow! Great order that DVD now. And it came. And I tried it. And after the third episode I realised I was tired of the wisecracking, witty sugar coated so-called-rebellious daughter stuff....I found I was weary of the mom daughter/friend/aren't they gorgeous clever and she never got married and left her VERY RICH family and she slummed it in a small house..WHO ARE THEY KIDDING!! It was a beautiful, quaint, wooden, house plus it had a veranda with swing ... Yip those witty say it like it is women are having a tough time.. I TRIED ladies I really tried but in the end sugar is really bad for you...my mum told me that.

Great show

A Customer from Yorkshire, 2nd April, 2005

I love this show! The earlier series were definitely best before Rory went to college. You end up wanting the characters as your friends, and while the pace is fairly snow it isnt boring. Easy viewing.

Sharp, witty and engaging.

Sharon from Glasgow, UK, 11th January, 2006

A genuinely heart-warming family comedy/drama series that rises above its competitors thanks to excellent acting and writing. The razor-sharp dialogue, littered with pop culture references, is delivered at pace and with relish. While the real life dramas mixed with the eccentricities of the Stars Hollow residents always makes for great entertainment. Mix this with a great cast, Lauren Graham is a standout, and you've got a first rate show.

What a fantastic series!!

A Customer from London, England, 22nd April, 2006

I have been trying to watch this series since I first saw it in my parent's house in Brazil three years ago while I was on holiday there. I never saw it in British TV and the cable channels I have did not show it. Now I managed to get the dvd and I can easily watch 4 episodes in one go. What a wonderful mother and daughter story.

Guilty Pleasure

A Customer from London, 2nd June, 2009

As a straight 34 year old male I'm sure The Gilmore Girls isn't aimed at me and if someone had suggested the idea of watching a show about a mother and daughter’s journey through life I would have laughed in their face. Then I watched a couple of episodes whilst recovering from a nasty hang-over and suddenly life didn't seem so bad. It’s charming, witty and intelligent enough not to be obvious.

Gilmore Girls

A Customer from London, 22nd February, 2009

Saw the title for the Gilmore Girls on E4 last year. I decided to check it out and I'm glad I did. I loved it right away. Lauren Graham as Lorelei with her quick wit is brilliant, and the relationship with her daughter Rory is touching. I also like that Lorelei is determined her relationship with Rory is different to the one she had with her mother - Emily. Everything about this series is brilliant, the setting of Stars Hollow, a close knit small town with quirky characters is lovely. I'm totally addicted and can watch this series over and over again.
