More schmaltz than the average person can stomach. Bette Midler and Dennis Farina play feuding divorcees, meeting up at their daughter's wedding to a politician who trades on his squeaky clean image. It's not too long before they realise they still fancy each other. Alhough there's a nice quick-fire repartee between Midler and Farina, they aren't exactly in the Astaire and Rogers class when it comes to bickering. You'll probably be able to guess the outcome five minutes into the proceedings. One to watch out the corner of one eye only.

Good fun!

I laughed a lot at this - great performances from Denis Farina and Bette Midler as the long-divorced couple meeting up again at their daughter's wedding and discovering that they have the hots for each other again. Funny supporting performances too from the actors playing their new spouses, with some brilliant btiching between Bette and Gail O'Grady as the woman who stole Denis from her many years before. A funny portrayal of the ups and downs of a volatile but ultimately well-suited couple - and if I sound like I speak from experience then that's because I do!

Same old tosh

Bette Midler chose unwisely. Nothing very funny in this rehash story of aging arguing parents with sibling trying to sort it out amidst her wedding. Hunky plumber from Desparate Houswives features - how young he looks!!
