If you don't have a sensitive stomach when it comes to jet-black comedy involving sadomasochism, violence, drugs and corpses, this British gangster movie is certainly interesting stuff. Rachel Weisz and Susan Lynch play two very different women brought together by violence, who then find themselves in a spot of bother with a dead body on their hands. It's one of those films where everyone is trying to outwit and double-cross everyone else, but thanks to the stars' winning performances, this thoroughly enjoyable film proves that sisters really can do it for themselves.

Good performances...

...but a weak plot. A wacky British thriller that comes on like a cross between Thelma & Louise and Lock, Stock... but doesn't have the script to do it justice. However, it's saved by the excellent performances from Susan Lynch and Rachel Weisz. Worth watching just for them!

Susan Lynch and Rachel Weisz are brilliantly cast in this unusual twist on the gangster genre. If you take your comedy ultra-black with a healthy dose of violence then this is a perfect choice. Two girls on the wrong side of violent boyfriends are thrown together one night through a twist of fate. Fate then takes them on a tortuous journey which goes from bad to worse, well maybe...this is a very good British gangster movie with great production values and a superb cast. Thoroughly enjoyable but not for those of a nervous disposition.

Fantastic Entertainment

One reviewer described this film as 'a cross between Thelma and Louise and Lock Stock...' and I can see his point, but this film is, in my opinion, superior to both, this may be because it suits my sense of humour in a way I don't think any film has done before. The basic plot centres around two girls with violent and cruel partners whose paths cross when one, saves the other form being beaten to death by her boyfriend inadvertently killing him in the process and the way events spiral from that point (a la Thelma & Louise!!) throw in gangsters, drugs, a crooked policeman and a pink dog and you've got a film in a class entirely of it's own. Okay, I admit the plot is farcical in parts but it is nonetheless extremely entertaining and enjoyable resonating with humour and acerbic wit throughout. Featuring great performances not only from Lynch and Weisz but also from the majority of the supporting cast this has to be my favourite (or at least one of my favourite)films of all time. You must watch it!

Rachel Weisz is one of the best female actors of her generation and I was looking forward to this film, but sadly the script writers didnt give her much to work with. I also found the film a bit disjointed. Onto the next Weisz film...
