I had the privilege of meeting Karen Dunbar before I had ever seen 'Chewin' the Fat' and seeing how funny she is in person, I was even more delighted with this series. And when partnered with Ford Kiernan and Greg Hemphill, they are a smashing trio. Enjoy the skeptical, nostril-flairin' spinster from Bearsden; Country adventures spoiled by the Neds; Betty the OAP slapper; Rab McGlinchy interpreting the news for the Neds; Ronald the incompetent actor, and much more! By episode 3, the viewer will be familiar with the characters and running jokes which build over the series and you'll find yourself thinking of their familiar catchphrases when you're out and about (I've had to stop myself a few times!) I got a lot of my American friends into this series and they would say that, yes, there are a lot of jokes that rely on a knowledge of Glaswegian culture, but if you're willing to stick with it, you'll soon grow familiar with it yourself. A great celebration of Scottish humour which doesn't shirk from taking the mick out of itself - the best kind of comedy. Also for lovers of Still Game, there are plenty of sketches involving Jack and Victor.
