A Film full of Surprises

Daniel from London, UK, 8th April, 2005

This film is both funny and intelligently arranged with a wicked (i.e. brilliant) twist at the end. Vive le french cinema ;-)

Don't be put off by the subtitles

Anna Hayward from Cambridgeshire, England, 18th January, 2006

I was daunted by the subtitles but I'm glad I stuck with it anyway because it was an absolute joy. Very, very funny, and very satirical - the subtitles inadvertently adding to the humour due to some overly literal translations. But a film that also conveyed feeling in a very subtle, touching way, from the housewife suffocated by domesticity, to the philandering husband terrified of losing his children, to the fierce, butch lesbian who's a sweety at heart. I particularly loved the unexpected way the worm turns in this plot - from submissive little housewife to... well, watch it and see. Great ending - I couldn't see it coming at all.

Good fun

A Customer from Exeter, 24th February, 2009

This film made me laugh out loud in places. The husband was particularly good. It touches on some serious issues of loyalty and sexuality and at times you think it's just a little too long with the concentration on the eternal triangle and the joke is lost. However, it's a feel good movie in many ways and well worth a watch.

Predictable, old fashioned and pretty crass... Not even very funny so my advice is don't bother...
