Comedy Central's RENO 911! parodies reality cop shows through the outrageous antics of an inept police force in Reno, Nevada. The series' eccentric characters--a closeted lieutenant in hot shorts, a former topless dancer, a bilingual police dog trainer, and more than a few mentally unhinged deputies--are brought to zany life by a funny cast that includes Thomas Lennon, Ben Garant and Kerri Kenney. This collection includes all episodes of the show's debut series.

Reno's finest

Pink cherry blossom from Blackpool, England, 2nd January, 2007

Reno 911 is filmed as a spoof of reality TV shows such as 'Police camera action' and so on. The filming style is of a fly on the wall documentary. The actors who play the parts have had numerous bit parts in other US TV shows but are mainly unknown. The story sees a separate 'theme' for each episode making it ideal for dipping into and include story lines such as a scavenger hunt where the prize is a pair of tickets to an execution. The characters are well fleshed out and very believeable and it is possible to at times believe you are watching real policemen. The first series of Reno is slightly less slick than the other 3 but presumably they got bigger budgets for the others the jokes however are still sharp and funny. After Garcia locks himself in a mortuary freeze for a bet the assistant says to him... 'Hey, get out of that freezer, sir. That's for dead people, not living idiots.' Class.

"That's Leonard Nimoy"

A Customer from Byfleet, 24th February, 2010

I feel this is a cross between the office and dads army but with police obviously instead of the home guard.I had watched the film and wanted to see this as i had never seen the series before. This was big on comedy central in america and ran for 6 seasons with Thomas Lennon as the camp lieutenant Jim Dangle.Thomas Lennon is most recognizable who you might have seen from '17 again'.I found this the funniest series i have seen in a long time as ive never seen this on tv over here and being the absolute dearth of comedy at the moment(somebody show me something funny that is being made now) i love this even more. The FBI episode was very funny and the woman in the purple top being chased in the first episode was excellent.I like comedies where you can believe in characters such as only fools... and Frasier and i believe in these characters. This has more in it than meets the eye with subtlety and slapstick.
