Michael Manns groundbreaking tv series

crafty from london, 14th September, 2004

Mann's early genius shines through in the pilot to this hugely successful program.

The whole thing is breathtakingly crisp and stylish - with striking visuals and focusing skills that can be seen in the more polished 'Heat' and 'Collateral' - A mixture of serious action and superb cheese!

Crockett and Tubbs are still the coolest duo ever to have hit our screens - one moment when the duo hit the road in a wonderful car to the whole of Phil Collins 'In the air tonight' is both evocative and strangely beautiful.

Highly recommended.

Brilliant!!!

Doogs from England, 14th December, 2004

I remember this when it was on BBC1 10pm back in the day, was brilliant then and brought those memories flooding back, Crockett & Tubbs, and Mr Castillo (Brick FACE!!) the Lieutenant too. A must if you're a Miami Vice fan!

Worth a watch

Nick2039 from Berkshire, 23rd February, 2004

If you liked the series you won't be disappointed with this disc. It contains the pilot and also a two part episode (Golden Triangle).

The pilot is quite good, although the Lieutenant is not played by the usual guy (Edward James Olmos). The two partner story is quite interesting - and involves Lieutenant Castillo.

There are no extra features on the disc (apart from a couple of screens of text).
