But there, he begins to discover truths that are darker still. Truths about the asylum. Truths about his own life. Truths which may not yet have happened...

Stylish but ultimately empty mix of horror and time travel in which our hero, while undergoing sadistic medical treatment, travels into his own possible future fifteen years hence.

solid, intelligent entertainment

A Customer from Leeds, 17th May, 2005

Despite being derided by a few for some obvious influences (One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest), The Jacket is by far the rip of they make out. It is atmospheric, excellently shot and the acting is engaging throughout. It starts off unnerving and chilling but as it progresses and you become used to the situations, you become heavily involved. A well-made film all round; keeps the attention, thought-provoking and a fantastic story.

Keeps you gripped.

WildWeb from Dorset, 23rd September, 2005

It's kind-of like The Butterfly Effect - only he needs a jacket and a very tight space in which to travel through time. A good watch with a great ending. Recommended.

Suits you sir

'The Jacket' is a very strange film that really draws you into the mystery. I did feel unsure at the end of what was real but that is not necessarily a bad thing.
Overall it was quite a sombre film but definitely worth watching.

An enjoyable ride

earlkegga from , 16th March, 2010

A bit of time traveling. A bit of memory twisting into reality. A mental Hospital. A film that doesn't inspire much ingenuity but that i actually enjoyed rather a lot.... I thought the direction and cinematography was excellent and the acting made up for the screenplays weaknesses.

A Little Confused?

Crookshanks from , 4th December, 2009

Ok I really enjoyed this film but feel like I've been left wondering what the hell happened??? It was certainly a weird story line that jumped back and forth through time. I was left not quite understanding if he actually did go through time or was just mad anyway and thought he'd gone forward in time?? I felt this was not made clear by the end of the film even though the film had a deffinate conclusive ending (if that makes any sense??) What I did like about this film was the acting, especially from Adrien Brody and in particular Daniel Craig (like you've never seen him before!!) I was totally engaged throughout and horrified when they put him in the jacket in the morturary draw (this made me squirm!) I also liked that the film reminded me of One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, so if you liked that film then maybe you would like this one. A bit of horror and a bit of a physcological thriller.

Very strange, a few 'loop holes' in a very odd plot, but gripping at times all the same. Not one to rush out and watch, but worth a watch if you get the chance.
