Radio Times

Sleaze expert David F Friedman (the producer of the legendary Blood Feast and 2000 Maniacs) takes elements from Tod Browning's 1932 classic Freaks, relocates it to redneck country and hopes for the best. Sadly, director Byron Mabe isn't up to the challenge and lets the tale slip from promising camp trash into complete ineptitude. While the story — an ambitious greasy spoon waitress marries the owner of a seedy side show with gruesome results — is not without its compelling moments, you can see the money drain away from the micro-budget as this grade Z flick staggers to its rip-off climax of Browning's masterpiece.

Laughable rip-off of Freaks

A Customer from London, 7th May, 2008

This film left me totally bamboozled as to what was exactly its point. The story (especially the opening and closing scenes) were a deliberate steal from Freaks but in between almost nothing happened except for a tiny bit of terrible acting. Many of the scenes are totally without dialogue and several times I felt myself almost slipping into a coma as interminable fairground shots are substituted for exposition or plot development and used to pad out the film to normal length. Also conspicuous by their absence - at least until the very end - are the 'freaks' that so horrify the leading 'actress'. The film has none of the things that make Freaks a classic, it's like a remix of a song with all the good bits deliberately removed.

The worst film I seen, poor story, poor filming and the worst acting I have seen.
