Disappointing

A Customer from Bucks., 19th November, 2007

The documentary is well executed and produced but don't expect to gain much insight from it. It is a very quick overview of a backpackers guide and experiences of travelling to various locations. However you don't see much of the sights at the locations themselves or of any surrounding places. On the Israel/Egypt DVD the host basically relays comments from people she meets along the way. You see a couple of sights at 2 or 3 locations in Israel and about the same in Egypt, out of loads available. Do not expect to make holiday decisions or preparations from this production. There are far better in-depth resources out there!

Know about our beautiful World.

Chanu from London, England, 24th August, 2005

Very Interesting to see parts of the world and various cultures and way of life has been hidden for many centuries. It’s like almost a journey into another world. Sometime I felt like I was almost in the film. It makes you laugh when you see strange things that you never thought of. What can I say but to leave you to see for your self, go on rent it or buy it. Although nothing quite like Michael Palin’s amazing adaptation into the very culture that he visits, but it will keep you entertained for day to come.

How not to do a travel documentry is here.

Faddi from , 9th May, 2009

I appreciate that while filming a travel guide of the Middle East you cannot fit everything into your schedule but when you waste much of the movie filming your travel on taxis, trains, and hotel accommodates, this becomes more of a personal journal that an interesting travel guide. For instance, one of his stops in Tyre (south Lebanon) which is famous for its ancient ruins, stunning beaches, and its historic port. You see none of that, less than 30secs of streets and broken homes! What is left, taxis, travelling and more taxis. Very disappointing.
