For worldclass female yachtsman Georgia Perry (Mitchell), a record breaking solo navigation of the globe in a 44ft state of the art sailboat is akin to a simple Sunday afternoon stroll in the park. There are only two rules she cannot break - never use the engines and never let another living soul aboard. Six months into her voyage an unexpected and unnatural dead calm strands her in the middle of the Indian Ocean with nothing but her pet cat for company...

Entertaining, but slow and strange

DJM666 from , 17th January, 2006

Visitors is an entertaining movie, with an interesting story (of a yachtswoman who begins to lose her mind while alone at sea on an around the world voyage), and a good and capable cast (including Radha Mitchell (who puts in a good performance in the main role and focal point of the film), Susannah York, Ray Barrett and Dominic Purcell). It is a very strange film though, where reality and fantasy start to mix together, and Radha Mitchell starts to see and talk to the dead. The film can also be somewhat confusing and is slow paced, but it is enjoyable enough and passes 90-minutes.

The Visitors

This film was a huge let down. It doesn't make much sense and all the way through you're checking the time to see how much more you have to endure. I wouldn't recommend it.

strange and intriguing

breatheasier from from BRIGHTON, 12th November, 2007

Im a big fan of Rhada Mitchell and rented this on the basis that i've never been disappointed with a film that she has starred in. Surprisingly this film carries on that roll. The visitors is a strange film that explores what effects isolation can have on the human mind and how, when left alone for a long period of time with only our minds for company, we will eventually be forced to face our demons. The film is genuinely creepy at times but the spook factor is really not the point of this film at all, the journey that Mitchell's character takes, both literally and psychologically is both moving, frightening and disturbing. I absolutely recommend this film for anybody who is a fan of Rhada Mitchell or enjoys the claustrophobic atmosphere of isolation and lonliness in a movie. A suspenseful little psychological thriller/horror of great quality!
