Fans of kitsch will be in seventh heaven: not only does this boast Joan Collins at her most flamboyant, but her male lead is Baywatch star David Hasselhoff. He plays a charming rogue out to fleece his rich employer Collins, who ends up falling in love with her. Director Rod Holcomb tries to whip it all up into witty froth, but he is hampered by the ever-wooden Hasselhoff and a clumsy script. Collins, however, emerges with her dignity intact and has a ball sending up her soap-queen image, while Telly Savalas is a splendid villain.
