It's a nifty premise — a serial killer who specialises in murdering fellow serial killers. But sadly director Jeremy Haft fails to make the most of the opportunity and the result is routine police thriller. Patrick Muldoon and Cathy Moriarty are the FBI agents who have a crisis of conscience when they cotton on to the fact that someone else is doing their job for them — and that the killer may actually be one of their own. It has its moments, but the game is given away far too early and the moral ambiguities posed by the story are largely left unexplored.

Good idea, poorly executed...

Good cop works for the 'Red Team', a specialised FBI squad investigating serial killers. He notices that serial killers are themselves being killed; but who is the killer? You have to be a single cell organism not to figure out who it is, and that spoils the film and any suspense. What could have been a corker of a film in the same league as 'Seven' is spoilt by some excrutiatingly bad acting and laughable set pieces, including the good cop and his partner (female) 'getting it on'. Avoid.
