Ever Ready Eddie!!

Let me be honest, I'm a huge fan of Eddie Izzard but will try to be as unbiased as I can. This recording from the Albery Theatre in London, March 1994 shows he had not yet reached his peak as it was in Definite Article and Glorious, even so, he does still make you cry with laughter.
Turning the most basic things in life into brilliant pieces of comedy such as purring cats, dogs fetching sticks, even the psychology of shopping, he goes on to talk about life as a transvestite and Star Trek, also turning them into superlative comedic masterpieces.
This performance displays the gifted vivid imagery and stream of consciousness that is his trademark, part scripted, part improvised, the audience can't fail to appreciate it. More than this though, it gives you a glimpse of the more potent material that lay ahead.
Much better than his recent stuff; Sexie, Circle, even Dress to Kill which in parts felt more like a history lecture than a comedy show, this is truly top class comedy from the genious that is Eddie Izzard. If you're wondering what the fuss is all about watch this one, you won't be disappointed.
Not much else on the dvd in way of extras though which is a shame.
