He's Lucky He Can't See What He's Up Against!

Halliwell's Film Guide

Violent American variation on a Japanese samurai series of the 1960s featuring Zatoichi the blind swordsman, which gains nothing from being transferred from the 1800s to present-day Los Angeles.

Well done.

Not so Silent Bob from Edinburgh, 9th October, 2007

Quite agree with the comments here. Watched this when I was younger and loved it, saw it again not so long ago and it still felt the same. That is unusual enough. the action scenes (pre-cgi) are fantastically fast and realistic.

Blindingly good!

Dingle from cheshire england, 9th March, 2005

it takes alot to be a good actor in todays world never mind a blind one and for that it has to take a lot of skill, not only that the fight scenes and the emotional scene are all brilliant, the eyes that should be blind and unable to cry only waver once at the end of the film he sheds a single tear I'd recomend to any one no matter what they prefer, there's something in it for nearly every one
