Captain Ron
(1992)

When a family decide to sell an 'inherited' boat, they decide to sail it to the buyer. But their so called 'captain' turns out to be totally inexperienced in the art of sailing.

There's not much worth noting in this Disney attempt at maritime comedy, in which an eye-patched Kurt Russell occasionally dons what looks like a bikini, while singer Paul Anka tries what he thinks is acting (he's the boat salesman). When businessman Martin Short and his wife Mary Kay Place set sail with their sassy kids, they hire Russell for his supposed sailing expertise. Needless to say, their best-laid plans are soon up the creek without a paddle. Although the film contains some hilarious moments, they are too few and far between. Come back Long John Silver, all is forgiven!
