The reigning champion as Most Popular BBC Sitcom is firmly in the grasp of FAWLTY TOWERS. This collection includes the following episodes: "A Touch of Class," "The Builders," "The Wedding Party," "Hotel Inspectors," "Gourmet Night," and "The Germans."

Dated, predictable and uninvolving.

Bezman from , 9th February, 2005

Basil Fawlty is too inhumane a character, too unreal a person for us to have any compassion for him.

Some reactions are alien to our times and nearly all simply overpump a stereotype which is already a cartoon character placed in a universe he doesn't belong.

The endings can often be predicted before they come, resulting in a boring watch.

Still brilliant

What a joy!

If anything has appeared on British telly that's as good as this, please tell me where I can get my hands on it.

Every episode has so many facets running through it, that you could make several episodes out of each one.

Some of the stereotypes look a bit old fashioned now, but apart from that this short lived set of masterpieces can't be beaten. PS, Connie Booth is a very attractive female.

Side-splitting hilarity

Leo9 from Bagillt, 15th October, 2004

This is classic British humour at it's best, with the manic Basil determined to exploit every situation - and failing at every turn.

Individual episodes vary, but are never less than constantly amusing – and frequently bring tears to the eyes, even after repeated viewing.

See them all, or miss the BBC TV gems of all time.

Fawlty Towers, series one

A Customer from Cannock, 9th March, 2010

Brilliant, timeless classics...they don't make them like this anymore, and it's a pity. Watching Clees beat his car with a branch, I'm sure we all feel like doing that when our cars breakdown, just when we need to rely on them the most, and the 'Germans' episode had me in stitches, if you failed to raise even the corners of your mouth watching it, you may need to see a doctor as soon as.
