Elle Woods (Reese Witherspoon) returns in all of her pink splendour in this sequel to LEGALLY BLONDE. This time, spunky lawyer Elle is in the midst of planning her wedding to law professor Emmett Richmond (Luke Wilson) when she realises that she has to locate the mother of her pet Chihuahua, Bruiser, in order to include her on the guest list. A detective locates Bruiser's mother, only to find her in an animal testing facility. Determined to put an end to the practice and to free Bruiser's mum in time for the wedding, Elle heads to Washington, D.C. to work as a legislative aid to fellow Harvard Law alum, Representative Victoria Rudd (Sally Field). Unfortunately, Capitol Hill isn't as welcoming as Elle had hoped, and she finds herself learning about the darker side of Washington politics. Undeterred, the ever-optimistic Elle enlists her friends to help in her campaign to stop animal testing. Witherspoon is delightful as the wide-eyed, good-hearted Elle. Bob Newhart stars as Elle's politically aware doorman, and Jennifer Coolidge reprises her role as Paulette, Elle's personal beauty consultant. Directed by Charles Herman-Wurmfeld, the film also stars Regina King, Bruce McGill, and Dana Ivey.

Reese Witherspoon returns as ditzy blonde socialite Elle Woods in this frothy but dumb sequel to the 2001 hit comedy. Having graduated from Harvard, the pink-clad cutie is now a rising young lawyer, intent on legally ending the animal experimentation that's keeping her beloved dog's mother locked up in a cosmetics lab. Fans of the original will love the rose-tinted confection that follows as our stilettoed heroine teeters off to Washington to lobby the politicians directly. Reprising her tenacious sorority girl role, Witherspoon is astonishingly authentic in the lead and it's to her credit that she pulls off such an airheaded turn with so much charm and grace. Without her, the film would be a mess — some of the scenes are toe-curlingly embarrassing, while the plotline and conclusion are beyond preposterous. Ultimately there's fun to be had, but you'll need to disengage your brain to get the most out of this sugary romp.

What a classic! How does Elle get away with her flamboyant and outragous dress sense and personality. You just gotta love her!

As for bruiser.....well finding his mum is the priority of both him and Elle, but when they find herElle is horrified at what she finds.

She embarks on a campain to stop Animal testing, she wins the support of her friends but not her Law firm, this results in her getting the sack.

Join her on this outragousjourney of justice for the deflensless animals. This is a classic comedy with a hint of romance, sadness, and utter madness.

All I can say is that if you have seen Legally Blonde 1 then YOU JUST HAVE TO WATCH THE SEQUAL!!!! It wil leave you rolling on the flore laughing. If you havn't watched the first film then may I suggest you rent them both to help you get a better understanding of who she is, what she is and why she is!!!

Thumbs up to Video Island also for their speed of turnaround, it really seems to be getting better, we returned 5 dvd's on Tuesday and got 5 more on Thursday - quicker than I could walk to the video store!!

Not as bad as that

Lighthouse from , 5th April, 2004

It's hard not to like everything that Reese Witherspoon stars in. She is pretty reliable. This film was hammered by the critics because it wasn't a patch on the first film. Well that’s true. The premise lacks any sort of believability and the story is predictable.

But this is supposed to be light comedy. It is funny in parts and you leave the film with a feeling that you where glad to spend time in the company of the characters. It is Reese Witherspoon that just makes this film worth watching. It’s a happy snappy film. So watch it and enjoy. It’s not as bad as some would have you believe. In fact its really rather ok.

One for the Girls

Flame from Kent, 30th October, 2004

I enjoyed the first film, but having read some of the other reviews I almost deleted this second film from my Queue. I’m so glad I left it in place!

This is definitely not one for the guys – there’s no complicated plot and no surprises along the way, but sisters, if you want something to help you celebrate being a girl, this is it.

Send the guys off to watch football and enjoy.

No where near as good as the first movie, if you thought that was far fetched then youll find the story line on this almost as weak as the acting itself.

Not as good as the 1st

If you have seen the first one, u might as well watch this one, but i wouldn't go out of my way to see it. The first one was far better! Elle is continuing to be a lawyer and tries to fight to save her dogs mum from animal testing... this film takes you through her journey and her crazy dress sence. I reccomend this film to young teens up to the age of 13. Personally this film wasn't for me.

lazy script and weak story. The family were disappointed at the decline from the standard of the first film, which was quite satirical. This was pap.
