With the loss of iconic anchorman Angus Deayton, the witty and caustic topical news quiz tries out guest presenters. What a motley crew they turn out to be. From politician Charles Kennedy and THE WEAKEST LINK's hard woman Anne Robinson to comedians Hugh Dennis and Sanjeev Bhaskar. They cope with varying degrees of comedic success. Particularly fine at fielding sarcasm and witty retorts from the resident team captains Paul Merton and Ian Hislop were Bruce Forsyth, Boris Johnson, Martin Clunes and one-time Conservative Party leader William Hague.

What is the bonus disc for?

John Bird from London, UK, 24th March, 2008

The main disc is fine - if you knew the original shows, you will not be disappointed; read the other reviews and you will see that Boris Johnson is the star. However, I do wonder what the bonus disc is for; the longest item, 'The Full Boris' is already on the main disc so all it offers are short monologues by Johnson and Forsyth on their experience plus Merton and Hislop reminiscing for a while about different presenters without even the support of clips to back up their references. A total waste of plastic, time and money and not worth one of your Easycinema credits at all.

Sublime moments of comedy!

Chris Jones from North Wales, 10th July, 2004

This is just awesomely funny.
Best for me is Bruce Forsyth; Hislop's reaction when he does 'Play your Iraqi Cards Right' is an absolute jewel!
The show with Boris Johnson is excellent as well, but Brucie steals the show. You must watch this, I defy anyone not to laugh out loud!

Boris Johnson for PM! HIGNFY is always good for a laugh, but Boris' utter inability to hold
the fort and control the usual cast of characters makes for riotous laughter. Whether you
saw it the first time or have never seen it, this episode is a must for anyone who have
enjoyed HIGNFY in the past

Disc 1 Great - Disc 2 Poor

SimonB from , 14th April, 2008

As enjoyable as disc 1 in this set was, disc 2 is a bit of a let-down. You only get the following: 1) The 1 hour unedited version of the Boris Johnson televised edition that was on disc 1. It's amusing, but including both versions is excessive and repetitive. 2) A 10 minute chat between Boris and Paul on the set of Room 101. Mildly interesting, but not that funny. 3) 5 minutes of Bruce Forsyth and William Hague talking (separately) about their experience. Not much to write home about here. 4) 20 minutes of Paul and Ian talking about the first batch of guest hosts. This had the potential to be quite illuminating, but you feel like they are holding back. I suppose it would be unprofessional to really open up on how they felt, but it makes for an unremarkable segment. It is a shame that this is all they bothered to squeeze on disc 2, as they clearly had a wealth of material to choose from. All in all, a missed opportunity.

THIS is a must for fans of the series of for anyone with a sense of fun and humour. It is one of those DVD's that you must see and watch right through. I sat up late in the night watching this as I could not switch off. GET IT and have a good laugh
